Correlation between aging and pores

Of course, aging and pores are closely related. First, loss of skin elasticity is a typical symptom of aging. As skin elasticity decreases, the walls of pores also sag, making the pores look enlarged, thus affecting pore size. According to a study published in 2018, the increase in the number of pores is sharpest at the age turning from the 30s to 40s, and then becomes gradual afterwards. This means that when the skin reaches the aging point where elasticity rapidly decreases, typically in the mid-30s, the number of pores also increases significantly. After this period, the rate of the loss of skin elasticity slows down along with the gradual decrease in the excessive sebum production, and therefore the rate of pore changes slows down correspondingly. Therefore, it is essential to take extra care to prevent pore sagging during your 30s and 40s.
